The goal of the workforce development team is to inspire and train the next generation of technical, business, and social professionals, who will lead the development of a sustainable bioeconomy.

Specific objectives include:

  • K-12 grade-appropriate introduction of students to the concept of a bioeconomy that is based on sustainable agriculture through partnerships with school districts.
  • Undergraduate student capstone projects on the development and deployment of biofuels, bioproducts, and bioenergy (B3) using carinata as a case study.
  • Graduate student engagement in biofuel and bioproduct applied research across the carinata value chain at participating universities.
  • Experiential learning for students through interdisciplinary internships in bioeconomy at participating companies.
